Resilient Taiwan

To celebrate the 2025 Double Ten National Day, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has produced a special national day video themed “Resilient Taiwan.” The video highlights Taiwan’s remarkable achievements over the past year in sports, smart technology, sustainable development, multiculturalism, and national defense diplomacy. It showcases the resilient and united spirit of Taiwan, undaunted by challenges, and actively echoes the vision and expectations outlined in President Lai Ching-te’s first anniversary address. The video encourages the people of Taiwan to continue embracing unity in the face of future opportunities and challenges, “transforming with the wind and advancing steadily.”

The video opens with Taiwan’s breathtaking natural landscapes and rich cultural scenery. In the sports segment, it features classic moments of Taiwanese athletes winning honors in international competitions, such as the World Baseball 12U Championship, the Little League World Series, and the women’s tug-of-war team’s six consecutive World Games victories. These achievements convey the spirit of teamwork and cooperation in sports, allowing the world to witness Taiwan’s strength and image.

The technology segment presents Taiwan’s central position in the global high-tech industry and its abundant innovative energy. Through developments in semiconductor chips, smart agriculture, medical technology, and quantum computing, the video emphasizes Taiwan’s key role as an “AI Technology Island,” and its continued indispensable presence in the global industrial chain.

The sustainable development segment focuses on Taiwan’s green transformation, including solar energy, offshore wind power, and marine waste recycling initiatives. These carbon reduction actions demonstrate Taiwan’s commitment to net-zero transformation, international integration, and the realization of sustainable coexistence with nature.

In the cultural segment, the video features Taiwan’s religious festivals, performing arts, creative exhibitions, classic cuisine, national treasures, and artisan skills, outlining the nation’s inclusive and diverse cultural heritage. The world is invited to step into Taiwan and explore its beauty together.

The national defense and diplomacy segment highlights Taiwan’s determination to safeguard national security and expand international connections. Through scenes of the Hai Kun submarine, Keelung-class missile destroyer, and Han Kuang military exercises, the video demonstrates Taiwan’s commitment to strengthening defense autonomy and defending sovereignty, as well as ongoing efforts to enhance “whole-of-society defense resilience.” Additionally, by showcasing President Lai’s visits to diplomatic allies, government teams’ international exchanges, and global friends’ support for Taiwan’s international participation, the video presents the international community’s recognition of Taiwan’s contributions and steadfast support for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

The video concludes with a call for all citizens to unite and strive together, encapsulating the “Taiwan Spirit.” It not only shares the honor of “Team Taiwan” with global friends, but also conveys the aspiration for Taiwan to become a beacon to the world.
